Porsche does not seem to have lost faith in electric vehicles, so much so that they have made it official that the Cayenne Electric will make its debut at the IAA Mobility show in Munich, scheduled for 9-12 September.
The most powerful Cayenne Electric ever
.With the upcoming battery-powered Cayenne, Porsche hopes to replicate the good sales results of the battery-powered Macan. Meanwhile, with sales of the new Cayenne set to begin in late 2025, Porsche has previewed some of the bold solutions it intends to adopt. In short, Porsche will not only show the car at the Munich Motor Show, but more. It will also unveil a set of technical innovations designed to help make the future of 100% electric driving even more comfortable and easier than it is today. Although Porsche has not disclosed the full technical specifications, it seems that the Cayenne Electric will be the most powerful ever, surpassing the 740 hp Turbo E-Hybrid as the highest performing model.
A 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds for 1,000 hp
.So much so that among the most credible rumours is that the electric Cayenne could be equipped with 1,000 hp, with a 0 to 100 km/h in just three seconds, as well as a bigger body than the current one. As for how Porsche will make electric driving comfortable, it probably refers to the new suspension that has been designed for the EV. The new Cayenne will then be equipped with the Porsche Active Ride system that adjusts the body level on board. It is not the first Porsche to receive this technology, as it has been available for the Taycan and Panamera since last year. For these vehicles, supplier ZF has developed adaptive dampers with a set of 13 different settings that can be activated per second.
The launch of the Boxster and Cayman EV has been postponed
.At the IAA the new Cayenne Electric will not be a production car, but more official dictates will arrive. Originally the electric Cayenne was supposed to arrive after the 718 EV, but the plan was changed in the running. The electric Boxster and Cayman will be launched during 2026. Porsche will not withdraw the combustion-powered versions once the EV is launched- The hybrid variants will remain in production and the same goes for the Panamera and 911. As for the thermal Macan, it will no longer be produced from next year, although a new non-electric crossover is in development for a launch at the end of the decade. Finally, Porsche has confirmed that a larger electric SUV with 3-row remains is in the pipeline.
The 7-seater electric super suv is confirmed
.The new model will be produced at the Leipzig plant and will be a genuine high-wheeled flagship with battery propulsion and three rows of comfortable seats and thus seven seats, which will, however, also be offered with other types of engines. In short, Porsche will continue to produce a wide range of models in the coming years. These will be cars available with combustion engines, especially plug-in hybrid variants or alternatively 100% electric available in parallel for a long time, at least until 2030. Unless, in the meantime, regulations are adapted to demand trends and the rules of the car market change in a hurry. We will only talk about this on the way.
