Porsche, deliveries down in 2025 but 911 breaks all records

Porsche closes 2025 by limiting the damage of a complex year. Because if on the one hand sales in China marked a -26%, on the other hand the record sales of the 911 and the hold on the North American market led to a 10% drop with 279,449 cars delivered in 2025 against 310,718 in 2024. A decline that comes after several years of steadily growing results, with a climb that started from 256,255 cars in 2018 and 280,800 in 2019.

Porsche Macan continues to be Zuffenhausen's best-selling model globally, with a total of 84,328 units, up 2 per cent. Electric Macans reached 45,367 units, while the number of heat-engined versions still on sale outside the European Union amounted to 38,961 units delivered. The German brand confirmed the arrival of a new mid-size internal combustion SUV, a model that will fill the gap left by the thermal Macan in Europe.

The Porsche 911 knows no crisis and closes the year 2025 with 51,583 deliveries (+1%), setting yet another record. Despite a rising price list in recent years, the iconic Stuttgart model continues to be one of the most popular models even in hybrid form.

In 2025, 34.4 per cent of all Porsches delivered worldwide were electrified models (+7.4 percentage points), of which 22.2 per cent were fully electric and 12.1 per cent plug-in hybrids. In Europe, for the first time, deliveries of electrified cars surpassed those with only a combustion engine (57.9 per cent electrification share), with one electric car for every three cars delivered. In the Panamera and Cayenne ranges, plug-in hybrid versions accounted for the majority of deliveries in Europe. In detail, the Panamera recorded -6 per cent with 27,701 deliveries, the Cayenne -21 per cent with 80,886 deliveries, the 718 -21 per cent with 18,612 vehicles and the Taycan -22 per cent with 16,339 deliveries.

With 86,229 cars delivered, North America remains the market with the highest sales volume. After record deliveries in 2024, the overseas and emerging markets also largely maintained the previous year's levels, with 54,974 cars delivered (-1%). In Europe (excluding Germany), Porsche delivered 66,340 cars, a decrease of 13% compared to 2024. In the German market, 29,968 customers took delivery of a new car, which corresponds to a decrease of 16%. In China, 41,938 cars were delivered (-26%), a drop due to complex market conditions especially in the luxury segment and strong domestic competition. The new CEO Michael Leiters will most likely have to deal with a series of optimisations and changes in strategy to recover from the drop of '25.
