Poste, parcels boom at the beginning of the year: almost 90 million deliveries
The most significant figure concerns deliveries made directly by postmen and women: 38 million in the quarter, up 21.9% year-on-year
2026 is proving to be a year of growth for Poste Italiane's logistics. In the first three months of the year, the group delivered 89 million parcels, the highest figure ever, an increase of 14.6% compared to the same period in 2025. A trend, that of e-commerce, which on the other hand is not surprising after the recent findings of the Customs and Monopolies Agency.
38 million deliveries by postmen
But the most significant figure, the one that tells the company's strategic direction, concerns deliveries made directly by postmen and women: 38 million in the quarter, an increase of 21.9% year on year. A pace that exceeds that of the sector as a whole and which is not the result of chance, but rather of a precise industrial vision.
Indeed, the strategic plan 'The connecting platform' aims to make postmen and women the beating heart of the last-mile distribution network. The target is ambitious: by 2028, deliveries entrusted to this professional figure should account for two thirds of the total volume of parcels delivered.
Green progress
Alongside the growth in volumes, Poste Italiane is pursuing its green agenda. The fleet dedicated to logistics now numbers 30,000 low-emission vehicles, 6,200 of which are completely zero-emission. The Green Delivery project, designed to reduce CO2 emissions through a centralised delivery logic, also fits into this direction. Customers can choose from an extensive network of collection points: the approximately 12,700 post offices in the territory, to which are added the approximately 20 thousand points between the Punto Poste Network and Locker.
