Poste: TIM takeover bid reopens; acceptance rate stands at 46.9 per cent of the share capital today, with total stake at 67 per cent
A 90 per cent threshold? “We hope so,” said Lasco today
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The deadline for accepting Poste Italiane’s takeover bid for TIM has been extended; the bid will now close definitively on 25 September. On the first day of the new period, acceptance of the takeover bid launched by Poste Italiane for 100 per cent of Telecom Italia rose to 46.9 per cent of the share capital (58.7317 per cent of the shares covered by the offer).
Poste Italiane’s total stake in TIM therefore rises to around 67 per cent.
Today, the chief executive of Poste, Giuseppe Lasco, commented positively on the progress of the takeover bid for TIM and expressed confidence that the 90 per cent threshold would be reached, which would facilitate the delisting. “We hope so,” he replied
Lasco added: "We are confident".
