Four possibilities for yields ranging from 1.5 to 2% gross per year (1.11 to 1.48% net). Also Poste Italiane, with the supersmart Deposits (Open, Young, Pensione and Rinnova), offers the opportunity to manage liquidity in the short term, while waiting for the turbulence in the financial markets to "calm down". To subscribe to the deposits in the four forms, one must have a Libretto di risparmio smart. Let's start with this.
Smart Savings Booklet
It allows you to manage your money online via the poste.it website and from the App. It can have up to four account holders if opened at the post office (only natural persons over 18 years of age), while if it is opened online there is only one account holder. With the Libretto smart customers can access supersmart deposits, which allow them to obtain an advantageous interest rate by setting aside a certain sum for a predetermined period of time.
You can consult the balance of your Libretto and supersmart deposits online and from the App, subscribe and redeem dematerialised postal savings bonds (Bfp), and activate and deactivate provisions. Holders can then make transfers between their smart passbook, a BancoPosta current account or another smart passbook (and vice versa), top up a Postepay card or receive bank transfers, even instantaneously, by associating an Iban of a bank account in the name of the smart passbook holder.
The smart passbook offers an almost zero gross annual rate (0.001%) and a 26% withholding tax is applied to the interest. The fixed stamp duty of EUR 34.20 on each report is not due if the average annual balance of passbooks and postal current accounts in the name of the same person does not exceed EUR 5,000. On the other hand, sums tied up in supersmart deposits are taxed, as for other types of investments, with a proportional stamp duty of 0.2% per annum on the sums set aside, even if less than 5 thousand euro.
Supersmart open
It is intended for holders of a single- or joint-signature smart passbook and allows them to set aside part of the sums already in the smart passbook. It has a duration of 360 days and offers a gross annual rate of 1.5%.
