Trade union communiqué on Sole 24 Ore strike

The journalists of the Sole 24 Ore newspaper went on strike and denounced the serious anti-union action taken by the management, which still put the newspaper on the newsstands on 18 October, albeit in a reduced form, in opposition to what had been unanimously decided by the assembly.

On Saturday 18 October, the website will not be updated and a new meeting is called for 4 p.m. The agitation comes to protect the professionalism of the editorial staff. On Friday 17 October, the day the budget law was approved by the Council of Ministers, an interview with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni written by an external collaborator suddenly appeared on the pages of the newspaper. This had already happened in the past and we had stigmatised it with a signature strike.

Similar episodes, in other fields, happen with other interviewers. This leads to a dystopian drift in which the interviewees choose their interviewers with the editor's blessing.
