Another round of investment for Primark, the low-cost clothing brand that belongs to the British conglomerate Associated British Foods, which will invest over EUR 40 million to open five new large shops. A plan to consolidate its presence in Italy with openings in Rome, Biella, Perugia and Naples. In the Neapolitan province, two shops are planned in the 'Grande Sud' and 'La Cartiera' shopping centres. There will also be landings in the 'Gli orsi' shopping centre in Biella and in 'Collestrada' in Perugia, while in the capital there will be a third store after those in the Maximo and Roma Est shopping centres. Another 700 new jobs will thus be created, while there will be 26 shops in our country. About eighteen months ago, a 50 million plan was presented for the opening of five more shops.

"This is another step in our growth path in Italy," says Luca Ciuffreda, Director of Primark Italy. "In just nine years, we have reached 18 shops in 10 regions and the growth potential is still very high. This additional investment of EUR 40 million will help us to expand our shop portfolio and we expect to grow further in Italy'. The five new shops will be designed according to customers' needs, with a large area dedicated to clothing, beauty products and household items, all at affordable prices. The new shops will also have self-service checkouts alongside the traditional ones.
