A new era begins at Aiaga: a recent board meeting ratified the appointment as president of Laura Echino, who succeeds Giovanni Tortorici, who has led the association since its inception. 'I take on this role,' says the new president, 'with great emotion and a sense of responsibility, also because Aiaga is a project that I helped found and that I feel is deeply mine. I am aware of the important work carried out in recent years by our first president Giovanni Tortorici, who has charted a solid and authoritative course. My commitment will be maximum to continue along this path, keeping the association's founding values alive'.
The objectives of this mandate are clear: to strengthen ties with current members and expand the membership base, to build a community in which the sharing of experience and expertise is the driving force. "Aiaga will continue to closely follow technological and legislative developments, contributing to the development of models and solutions that favour sustainable mobility in environmental, economic and social terms," says Echino. In the foreground remains the process of fleet electrification. For the president, 'a flexible approach is needed, based on an analysis of real operational needs and oriented towards reducing environmental impact. The electric engine alone does not guarantee overall environmental sustainability, which is why we consider it a priority to explore all available technological options so that each fleet can evolve in the most effective and responsible way'.
Another important topic on which the association will continue to work is training. "We have consolidated numerous collaborations over the years with qualified training organisations, which offer courses sponsored by the association. This direction will continue, but we are also working to flank it with new, more agile and immediate initiatives'. The international dimension of the activities implemented and relationships developed will not be overlooked. "We are founding members of Fmfe - Fleet and Mobility Management Federation Europe, the federation that brings together the main national associations in the sector at European level. This allows us to offer our members an up-to-date and international vision, useful for interpreting the changes taking place and for preparing for future challenges with greater awareness and competence'.
