Violence at pro-Palestine demonstrations, 18 precautionary measures in Turin

Eighteen precautionary measures were executed this morning by the Digos of the Turin Police Headquarters against 18 antagonist militants, 11 men and seven women. The measure was ordered by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations of the Court of Turin at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office. The measures include five house arrests, twelve obligations to present themselves daily to the judicial police and a ban on staying in the municipality of Turin.

The alleged offences are damage, aggravated private violence, aggravated resistance and injury to a public official. The charges concern various episodes that took place between last September and November, including the occupation for over an hour of the platforms at Porta Susa station during the demonstration on 24 September in support of the Global Sumud Flotilla, the cutting by thirty activists of the fence at Caselle airport on 2 October, which led to the suspension of flights for about thirty minutes, the riots in the evening at the Ogr and the next day again here, where the 'Italian Tech Week' event was taking place, with the participation of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and European Commission president Ursula Von der Leyen, and in front of the Leonardo company headquarters. Other measures concerned the raid on 14 November at the Metropolitan City, during the 'No Meloni Day', and the one on 28 November at the headquarters of the newspaper La Stampa.

At the same time as executing the measures, Digos agents, led by director Rita Fabretti, carried out three house searches this morning, including computer searches, with the support of the Operational Centre for Cyber Security. During the investigation, the Digos reported several antagonists and 21 house searches were carried out.
