Pro Recco changes statutes and commits to social activities, Recco Waterpolo will take its place in the A1 series
Pro Recco, the world's most successful water polo club, is changing its status and focusing on social activities, while Recco Waterpolo will take its place in the A1 championship. Current players are free to seek new opportunities

The Pro Recco, the most titled water polo club in the world, stops. It changes its statute and integrates its sporting activity with the identification, financing and realisation of initiatives of social interest in the Recco and neighbouring areas, remaining within the perimeter of Gabriele Volpi's Orlean Invest, which confirms its disengagement from competitive activity.
However, the newco Recco Waterpolo, whose constitution will be carried out by Maurizio Felugo, the resigning president of Pro Recco. And the latter will grant the new club the title to ensure the team's registration in the A1 championship. Recco Waterplo, however, will set up its activity by initially focusing on young talent. On the other hand, the Pro Recco society, as previously announced, will not guarantee top-level competitive activities.
Gratteri new administrator
This is what emerged at the end of the Pro Recco swimming and handball assembly, held today, 2 August 2024, which accepted the resignation of the club's board members and appointed lawyer Luca Gratteri as sole director.
From now on, therefore, as set out in the amendment to the statute approved during the meeting, the commitment that will characterise the Pro Recco, explains a note, 'will be developed in two macro areas: educational and recreational activities for children, youth and young people; and the creation of centres dedicated to the third age, both within privately owned residences and in public activities'.
The Committee of Wise Men
All this, clarifies the note, "responds to a precise will of the chairman of the Orlean Invest group, Gabriele Volpi - already made official on the occasion of the announcement of the disengagement from the management of Pro Recco's competitive activities last 5 July - today initiated with the modification of the statute, approved at the extraordinary assembly. The latter also proposed and deliberated the creation of a committee of wise men, which will have the task of evaluating and approving the various interventions listed above'.
