Sardinian companies' products at London Surface Design
Sardinian products at the London Surface Design Show 2026, the UK market's leading exhibition dedicated to indoor and outdoor surfaces in ceramics, natural stone, marble and synthetic coverings. It is the UK's only exhibition dedicated to surface materials innovation. The event of choice for architects and designers to see, source and specify the latest and most exciting interior and exterior surface materials from over 180 exhibitors.
This year's edition, hosted at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, was attended by more than 6,000 visitors.
The Pes Stone company from Abbasanta, specialised in the extraction, processing and trade of basalt, granite, marble and trachyte, and Trachite Artigiana from Ittiri, a leader in the extraction and processing of trachyte, represented the Sardinian production world with the Region and the Department of Industry. Two entrepreneurial realities that, for the duration of the event, were able to represent and publicise local production and explore new international markets, succeeding in intercepting the interest of buyers and investors.
"It was a special occasion for us to bring Sardinian trachyte to London and tell people about the work we do every day between the quarry and the workshop,' says Francesco Pinna of Trachite Artigiana. 'It was great to meet architects, designers and professionals from all over the world and to see how much interest there is for an authentic, durable natural stone that is linked to the territory. Events like this confirm to us that trachyte can find a place in many international projects and give us even more enthusiasm to continue making our reality known abroad'
Participation in the event, which is the ideal showcase for the presentation of new materials, design and product innovations to an audience consisting mainly of architects and interior designers, is promoted by the Department of Industry to support the internationalisation of Sardinian companies in the stone and marble sector, with the coordination of the ICE Agency (Agency for the foreign promotion and internationalisation of Italian companies).
