Two classes have begun the course offered, the only one in Abruzzo, by the State Technical Institute Aterno-Manthonè in Pescara: Construction, Environment and Territory, with 4 students and 10 students, and Graphics and Communication, with 8 students and 9 students, two lines of address closely connected with the needs of the real territory. "For years, the construction sector has been complaining of problems in the search for trained technicians, in the presence of a significant increase in work," explains school head Elvira Pagliuca. "We need trained technicians, with skills in the most innovative technologies. The Graphic Design and Communication specialisation is also one of the most sought-after courses at the moment: "Being a graphic designer nowadays means working on the web and social media, and few people can be considered specialists in this field," adds the teacher. "Our graduates will be precisely the specialised technicians who have the right skills for this job. Both addresses will be characterised by an innovative and integrated way of doing school with the territory and its enterprises, with the academic realities and the entire institutional chain, a partnership that has already been activated for some years at Aterno-Manthonè and that works. At the beginning of the course, the focus will be more on the acquisition of skills in the disciplines of Italian, mathematics and English, immediately providing accompanying courses and study groups to recover basic skills. "The other feature of these courses is to focus on internationalisation," emphasises Pagliuca, "offering students the opportunity to study a foreign language and attend internships in a European Union country, in order to make them citizens of the world.
