Prysmian: acquires cable splicing training centre in Scotland
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Prysmian has announced the acquisition of a well-established training centre for high-voltage cable splicers in North Ayrshire, Scotland, bringing over 20 apprentice splicers and highly qualified training staff into its organisation. “This Academy,” explains a press release, “will strengthen Prysmian’s expertise and help expand the team of specialist splicers. Furthermore, it will support installation and IMR (Inspection, Maintenance & Repair) activities in the UK and across Europe, helping to ensure the availability of highly qualified personnel for the implementation of high-voltage cable projects – both onshore and subsea – and electricity grid infrastructure to support the energy transition.”
"The training centre, which includes staff and instructors, will ensure the continuity of the training programme and professional opportunities for the many apprentices who have undertaken an in-depth training course at the Irvine centre over the last three years. The Academy will join Prysmian’s already well-established training and installation network, contributing to the development of future generations of specialist splicers."
