The Puecher Olivetti Vocational College in Rho takes it to the next level: a memorandum of understanding has been signed with Subaru Italia

Students studying maintenance and technical support at the Puecher Olivetti Vocational College in Rho, in the province of Milan, now have an extra edge. The school has signed a memorandum of understanding with Subaru Italia, which has made an Outback model car available to teachers and pupils for teaching activities, as part of a package that includes technical tools and training opportunities.
“An important step in strengthening the relationship between the school, the local community and the business world,” commented headteacher Emanuele Contu, “with the aim of providing students with authentic learning opportunities, up-to-date technology and more direct contact with the skills required by the automotive sector today. “For a vocational college, innovation also means building strong partnerships with companies capable of sharing knowledge, tools and a vision for the future.”
The automotive sector
The automotive sector is one of the areas of greatest interest to students on the Maintenance and Technical Support course, which, like all vocational colleges, also includes many hours of practical lessons.
Subaru's contribution
Subaru has also provided the school with official diagnostic tools and a technical training programme for teachers, as part of an initiative that did not end with the handover of the equipment but will continue in a structured manner to “train a new generation of repair technicians and car enthusiasts, ready to join local businesses and contribute to the growth of the automotive sector”, as stated by Ruggero Fede, After Sales Director at Subaru Italia.
Puecher Olivetti is the second Italian school to sign a similar agreement with the Japanese car manufacturer: in December, the Berna Institute in Mestre set the precedent. “For Subaru,” says Fede, “investing in young people means investing in the future of the sector.” Not to mention the ongoing shift towards electric vehicles.
