Another award, for public service journalism, was given to ProPublica for its report on the Supreme Court that revealed how billionaires courted judges with gifts and trips, prompting the Court to adopt its first code of conduct.
The Associated Press won a Pulitzer Prize in the photography category for its coverage of migrants from around the world travelling to the US via Latin America.
The photos were taken throughout Latin America and along the US-Mexico border, in Texas and California. Another prize, for Breaking News photography, was awarded to Reuters.
