Rai: First half-year ends in profit; board of directors briefed on business plan

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Rai has also posted a profit for the first half of the year, having returned to profit in the 2025 financial year with a profit of over 9 million euros. According to a statement, the board of directors has approved the half-yearly results, which closed with “a net profit despite the significant commitments associated with major sporting events” and against a macroeconomic backdrop characterised by various elements of uncertainty and challenges.

During the meeting, the board of directors received an update from the chief executive, Giampaolo Rossi, on the business plan, focusing in particular on planned initiatives and strategic objectives, whilst the chief executive of Rai Pubblicità, Luca Poggi, outlined the performance of the advertising agency’s operations and its prospects. Roberto Sergio was also confirmed as Director-General of San Marino RTV until the end of Rai’s current term of office.

"The results achieved confirm Rai’s ability to combine economic sustainability, financial stability and the quality of its public service content, reaffirming the centrality of its role in the national audiovisual system and its significance within the digital ecosystem," the statement concludes.
