From investigative reports on the massacres to those, yet to be broadcast, on the infiltration of the 'ndrangheta into the wind energy business. In front of the Antimafia parliamentary committee, Report host Sigfrido Ranucci spoke for more than an hour about the attack in front of his home in Pomezia, near Rome, on 16 October.
Starting of course with that night, when the device - which 'was certainly not a firework' - exploded. "Those parked outside my home were gas machines that, if exploded, would have knocked down the building".
No other threat after the attack
Ranucci reports that he has received no other threats since the bombing, which is being investigated by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office. "I do not know to what context this attack can be traced," he adds, recalling then that the themes of the first episode, launched two days before the explosion, were "the infiltration of the 'ndrangheta in the wind energy business and the massacres".
Threats since 2010
There are then the threats received from 2010 to date for investigations. From the investigations into the massacres, to the clans' infiltration of contracts, the Moro case and the Mattarella murder. Finally arriving at those of 2024, linked to a report on Albanian and Mexican narcos. "I remember receiving some messages sent at 5 a.m. from a lawyer - who also defended Pablo Escobar in Italy - who told me that he had been contacted by some members of a cartel who were asking for dossier activities against me, also fearing actions against my person".
Scarpinato-Fazzolari back-and-forth
One part of the hearing was sealed. The one after the question from former magistrate and senator Roberto Scarpinato: 'After an episode of Report concerning the Prime Minister Meloni, you declared that you had been tailed at the request of the undersecretary Fazzolari: would you like to tell us more about this episode and let us understand if there can be a connection with what happened to him?'
