Easier to apply for the transfer of real estate. From today, interested citizens or their proxies can obtain the change of data on the owners of property registered in Catasto with the new online service 'Voltura catastale web'. The new service aims to simplify matters for taxpayers who are required to submit the application, also through authorised parties, for instance in the case of inheritance. A second online service, also active in the reserved area of the Agency's website, instead opens up the consultation of the old 'lot registers', i.e. the paper files used in the past to identify real estate properties belonging to the same owner, now digitised.

Scope of application

The cadastral transfer is the main instrument by which the persons registered in the Land Registry must be updated. With the 'request for a cadastral transfer', therefore, the taxpayer informs the Agency that the holder of a particular right in rem over a property is no longer the same person, but another. This is the case, for example, in the case of hereditary successions: the person who has submitted the inheritance declaration must submit an application to update the cadastral headings and thus allow the Tax Administration to adjust the relevant property situations (for public deeds of real estate transfer, notaries, for many years now, have been carrying out these fulfilments directly with the Single Computerised Model).

The new service 'Voltura catastale web', accessible through Spid, Cie, Cns or Entratel/Fisconline credentials, allows users to submit the application for volture and pay the amounts due directly online. In particular, the system guides the user in filling in the declaration and, at the end of the operations, certifies the receipt, control and acceptance of the documents entered, as well as the payment of the taxes. The new service will gradually replace the 'Voltura 2.0 - Telematica' software, which will continue to be available until the date of its discontinuation, which will be announced at a later date.

Consultation of land registry lots

Further extending the Agency's digital offer is also the new free service 'Consultazione registro partite catastali', active since 9 April and also available in the reserved area on the Revenue website. The new feature allows users to consult the 'lot registers', i.e. the paper files with the names of the holders (cadastral companies) marked by a number (lot number). Over the years, these registers have been microfilmed and then transferred to digital images, which are now available online thanks to the new service, without the need to physically visit the Agency's offices. Although these paper registers are no longer up-to-date, as they have been superseded by current methods of archiving cadastral data, consulting the information they contain is particularly useful when searching back in time.
