Enrolment opens today for the two new telematics degrees at the University of Milan

A new teaching model: no time or physical presence constraints, courses taught by the same lecturers as the face-to-face courses, interactive lessons that can be used at any time of day. The didactics of the Statale Open courses, flexible and designed to adapt to different lifestyles, are divided into clusters, which combine synchronous, asynchronous and interactive activities (exercises, forums, online collaborative activities), according to a training model inspired by the Learning Design of the Open University (UK), which favours interaction and relationships even in distance learning environments.

Cluster courses entitle students to 18 to 30 CFU containing several modules, where each module corresponds to approximately 40 hours of online learning. For example, the cluster Business Economics I contains 4 modules (Principles of Business Economics, Business Management, Economics of Public Administration and Public Enterprises, Accounting and Financial Reporting). Concluding examinations are scheduled at the end of each cluster course, which are always held in person, every two months, on Fridays or Saturdays, for a total of 6 examinations per year, so that the student can come to Milan to the Statale campus only three times a year.

The chosen learning methodology is that of learning by doing, thanks to an interactive platform with immediate feedback that allows students to learn concepts through research, interviews, guided creation of concept maps and case studies.
The online courses are delivered on Moodle, a Learning Management System equipped with tools for the best use and maximum accessibility of digital training resources. From virtual classrooms to interactive exercises, from automated tests to simulations that integrate theory and practice, studying online at La Statale Open means learning through dynamic interaction with teachers, tutors and other students, thanks to an active study and learning environment that accompanies you from the moment of enrolment to graduation.

It is possible to have CFUs recognised on the basis of examinations taken in previous academic careers, but there is also provision for the recognition of up to a maximum of 48 CFUs to enhance previous professional experience. For example, for Business Administration the figures that, among others, may be enhanced will be the Project Manager, the Administrative Manager in Third Sector organisations, the Marketing & Business Analyst and the Official in Public Administrations; for Computer Security and Artificial Intelligence, the AI Security Specialist, the Security Analyst, the Data Analyst and the Software System Engineer.

Three types of dedicated tutors, for specific support according to need:
System Tutor, the point of reference who ensures that the learning materials are always accessible, monitors the regularity of the study by contacting the student for support, guides them on the e-learning platform via webinars, tutorials, FAQs, forums, and follows them from enrolment, assisting them in the recognition of CFUs;
Technical Tutors, a practical support that provides technical assistance, helping students to move around the online platform with confidence;
Disciplinary Tutors, to ensure study support that answers questions via forum or email, explains the most difficult concepts, helps with in-depth studies.
