Renault has chosen the Paris Motor Show (14 to 20 October) to present the electric prototype, the Twingo E-Tech, to the public. After its first 'taste' in November 2023, this all-electric city car will make its official debut, recalling the iconic design of the original Twingo, launched in 1992, which can now benefit from a modern and sustainable approach.

Modern but 90s-inspired design

The Twingo E-Tech offers five doors, despite its compact dimensions designed for those who have to deal with traffic every day. New is the fixed roof, made of glass, which allows maximum natural light into the interior. The prototype follows Renault's 'voitures a vivre' philosophy and incorporates extremely smooth and aerodynamic lines, LED technology headlights reminiscent of the originals and an instantly recognisable rear end.

Other 'nostalgic' references to the first generation can be seen in the iconic door handles and also in the three air intakes on the bonnet, although it does not need them as it is an electric car. The letters that make up the Twingo lettering recall the happy spirit of the 1990s where the car industry enjoyed much colour and health.
In addition to being a symbol of the past, the Twingo E-Tech prototype represents the future of Renault's sustainable mobility. Developed by the Ampere team, this electric city car prefigures the fourth generation Twingo, which will be available from 2026, with an expected entry price of less than EUR 20,000.
