Rocchi case, at least 5 suspects: no Inter and its directors
At the moment, the investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office only concerns referees
There would still be people 'yet to be identified', with useful evidence, in the investigation by the Procura di Milano that for over a year has been targeting the refereeing system, putting Italy's football into the blizzard for the umpteenth time. After two days without official communications, despite the earthquake that was created following the invitations to appear arrived on 25 April to the now former referee designator Gianluca Rocchi and to the self-suspended Var supervisor Andrea Gervasoni, from investigative sources - not without some tension for the management of the past few days - some clarifications have arrived: the suspects registered, at the moment, are five, all referees, and Inter and its directors are not under investigation.
More generally, the clubs and their managers are currently extraneous and do not even appear as injured parties. In addition, it has been clarified, there are five matches at the centre of the allegations of sports fraud.
In particular, Rocchi answers for three hypotheses: in addition to the affair of the alleged conditioning with the "knocks" on the Var room in Udinese-Parma on March 1, 2025, he is accused of having favoured Inter with a "liked" referee designation in an away match in Bologna on April 20, 2025 and of having moved so that the "disliked" to the Nerazzurri Daniele Doveri, according to the prosecutor Maurizio Ascione, would not referee them in the final phase of the championship and the eventual final of the Coppa Italia and would be chosen, instead, for the return semi-final. In these two latest allegations, there is particular mention of Rocchi's alleged arrangement at the San Siro stadium 'with more people', on 2 April 2025.
