European tennis toasts a new, long-standing partnership Warner Bros. Discovery has announced the renewal of its agreement with the Fédération Française de Tennis (Fft) for the exclusive broadcast of Roland-Garros until 2030. The historic partnership, which began in 1989 with Eurosport, is thus extended with an official renewal on the day of the men's final of the Parisian tournament, with a handshake between Gilles Moretton, president of the Fft, and Andrew Georgiou, president and managing director of Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe. A symbolic and concrete gesture, which ensures millions of European fans - and others - access on TV and beyond to one of the most watched sporting events in the world.
The Paris Grand Slam tournament, after all, is now a global event. In 2024, it attracted 675,081 spectators in Paris and was broadcast in no fewer than 220 countries. "Eurosport and TNT Sports," reads the release, "guarantee comprehensive coverage of all Roland Garros matches, thanks also to an ecosystem that includes social media and digital platforms, in 19 languages across Europe. In this edition alone, there were 620 million video views and around 30 million social media interactions'.
In Italy, the passion for red clay has translated into a 36% increase in unique viewers on discovery+ and a boom in TV ratings on linear channels, up 30% on the previous year. Positive trends also in Spain, Germany, Holland and the United Kingdom, confirming the growing enthusiasm for the second Slam of the season.
The renewal of the contract, valid in over 45 countries in the Old Continent (excluding France), will guarantee coverage on multiple platforms, including Eurosport, TNT Sports (in the UK and Ireland), discovery+ and, from 2026, also Max (the evolution of Hbo Max). A strategy that focuses on the digital ecosystem and an increasingly tailored offer. Furthermore, for the first time in 2025 Roland Garros was also broadcast live in the US on TNT Sports and Max, marking a significant expansion of the global audience.
"We are delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Warner Bros. Discovery, whom we thank for the trust they have placed in us and for their strong desire to renew this agreement. The excellent viewing figures for Roland Garros in Europe certify the ability of the FFT to organise an increasingly attractive tournament and of the Warner Bros. Discovery Group to promote our tournament to audiences throughout Europe. This partnership is proof of our growing ambitions on the international stage," said Gilles Moretton, President of the French Tennis Federation.
