42' also lands in Rome: AI school without professors

Last Monday saw the inauguration by the Elis consortium and Luiss of the new headquarters of '42 Roma': the school for fans of programming and new technologies (including AI), which offers free training courses based on a learning by doing and peer learning approach. All you need to do to access it is to be of legal age and be a digital enthusiast.

The '42' training course is compatible with other study or work activities and consists of three phases. The first, called 'pools', lasts about a month and is an intensive selection phase, with logic-mathematical tests and first programming experiences. This is followed by a second phase lasting 12-18 months, which focuses on learning programming languages, artificial intelligence models and other aspects related to the web, software and networks. And finally, a third phase lasting 12-24 months, which focuses on cybersecurity, data science and other advanced content.

Although it does not issue qualifications, '42' prepares people for the examination for the professional certifications 'IT Solutions Designer and Developer' (Level 6) and 'IT Architecture Expert' (Level 7), both recognised by the French State through the Rncp (Répertoire national des certifications professionnelles). The certification is equivalent to a three-year degree (Bachelor) in the European system (Eqf) with validity throughout Europe. Overall, '42' has 56 active campuses in 31 countries, with a total of 21,000 students. In Italia it is also present in Florence, thanks to the Fondazione CR Firenze which manages it through its instrumental body with the support of Intesa Sanpaolo. And soon it will also open in Milan.
