In the end, the passage through the Campidoglio was quieter than expected. Especially in the Capitoline Assembly, where the technical and economic feasibility plan for Roma's stadium in Pietralata was approved with no votes against. And only with five abstentions, namely the councillors of Fratelli d'Italia, in addition to the Five Star Movement, which did not participate.
Forza Italia and the League also voted in favour. With the latter deciding in the process, when its requests (two agendas) were approved. In particular, the one committing the mayor and the council to 'guarantee the punctual definition of the infrastructural works, the mobility interventions and the necessary measures to ensure the urban, environmental and transport sustainability of the intervention, with particular attention to the functionality of the Tiburtina-Metro B-Railway node'. Leghisti Fabrizio Santori and Maurizio Politi called it 'an act of trust for the great works'.
Thus, the resolution passed with 39 yeses. Which brings the project to the decisive Services Conference. It still needs to be scheduled, but the goal is to do it as soon as possible, in order to start construction at the beginning of 2027, as planned. This is the last step, unlike the Preliminary Services Conference (which closed in January 2023), where the final authorisation of the project is given. The meetings will be attended by various sections of both the Lazio Region and the Campidoglio, which will also have to deal with managers and technicians from Ispra, Enac, Acea, Rfi, Asl, Areti, Coni and the Ministry of Culture.
Therefore, it becomes essential to seek dialogue in order to reach a solution, the construction of the plant, which all sides care about. Among other things, Roberto Gualteri will also participate in the decisive Services Conference, as stipulated in the fifth point of the approved resolution.
The mayor spoke positive words in view of the collaboration, highlighting the 'constant' dialogue that already exists with the government. A reference, in particular, to the appointment as stadium commissioner of Massimo Sessa, president of the Superior Council of Public Works at the Ministry of Transport.
