The foundation stone of the Rome Technopole has been laid in Via delle cave di Pietralata. The infrastructure will be an advanced centre dedicated to research, high technology and the attraction of national and international talent and investment. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri, the President of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca and Vice-President Roberta Angelilli, the Rector of Sapienza University of Rome and President of the Rome Technopole Foundation, Antonella Polimeni, and representatives of all the institutions involved in the project. Rome Technopole brings together the 7 leading universities based in Lazio, the 4 major public research organisations, Unindustria, the Lazio Region, the Municipality of Rome, the Chambers of Commerce of Rome, Latina-Frosinone and Rieti-Viterbo, other public bodies, and over 20 industrial groups and enterprises. It is an innovation ecosystem financed by the Mur within the framework of the regional PNRR, which will feed the research, training, innovation chain within the three areas of strategic interest for Lazio: energy transition, digital transition, health and biopharma.
