Rome, the silent march for the children killed in Gaza: 'Don't forget a single name'
Protesters unrolled a shroud containing the more than 18,000 names of girls and boys killed in Palestine from October 2023 until the end of 2025
A silent march for the young victims of Gaza passed through the streets of Rome from Piazza Vittorio to the Verano cemetery, carrying the banner 'Do not forget a single name'.
The protesters then unrolled a shroud containing the more than 18,000 names of girls and boys killed in Palestine from October 2023 until the end of 2025.
The respectful silence was only interrupted from time to time by the voices of a chorus of condolence. The slogan of the leading banner was taken from a sentence by the essayist and journalist Paola Caridi, also present at the procession, who said: 'This jolt, such a fragile gesture, cries out a lot and says that genocide cannot be accepted'. Outside the Verano all the names and ages of the dead children were then read out.
