Next Saturday sees the start of the 2026 season of Cinecittà World, the theme park in the capital managed by the Network Holding group, which also includes Roma World, Aqua World and Luneur Park, which together welcome 700,000 visitors a year. Cinecittà World this year offers 40 attractions, 6 themed areas inspired by the big screen and 6 new live shows, aiming to turn every visit into an immersive experience. Among the events from 26 to 28 June is the "Bud Spencer tribute - 10 years without Bud" world event organised in collaboration with Giuseppe Pedersoli, the actor's son, to celebrate one of the best-loved icons of Italia cinema. Among the season's novelties is "Motori ciak azione!", a stunt show inspired by the cult Italian comedy between breathtaking chases, stunts on two wheels and special effects, a show between action and comedy that pays tribute to the most iconic characters of the films of the 1980s. In the Far West, "The Legend of Dustyn Town" is staged, with spectacular duels, choreographed gunfights and musical numbers sung live. Guaranteed laughs with the one-man show 'Ciak si ride'. Attractions for all ages, film sets, eras and different worlds, in a single day guests can enjoy thrills and immersive experiences in every corner of the Park: from the set of Gangs of New York you fly into Space in the Spaceland area, aboard the adrenaline-filled Altair roller coaster with its ten upside-down inversions. Volarium is the only flying cinema in Italia and offers the thrill of flying over Renaissance Florence with Leonardo da Vinci. The adrenaline continues in Inferno, the indoor rollercoaster, and then glides over water at 70 kilometres per hour in Ancient Rome with Aktium. From the dinosaurs of Jurassic War to Adventure Land, the journey continues in the Far West, the setting for so many spaghetti westerns.
The new season, starting on 21 March, strengthens the link with the cinema, which is in the Park's DNA. The leitmotif of the storytelling is the big screen, narrated through communication, content, events and the Park's themed spaces," explains David Tommaso, general manager of Cinecittà World and Luneur Park. "The Park is also a film set chosen by Italian and international productions for video clips, commercials, films and TV series, the most recent of which include the series Mrs Playmen with Carolina Crescentini on Netflix and the finale of Checco Zalone's box-office record-breaking film 'Buen Camino'. This is complemented by a rich programme of events: Cinecittà World is a reference location for consumer events, corporate activities, meetings and congresses". "Many appointments at Cinecittà World and Luneur Park enrich the already large programme of events in Rome. With more than 50 events every year and 7 million visitors in 10 years, 40% of whom come from outside the city, these parks play a strategic role in Rome's tourism and entertainment system, helping to distribute tourist flows throughout Rome and over several periods of the year,' said Alessandro Onorato, councillor for major events, sport, tourism and fashion of Roma Capitale. The synergy between the public and private sectors is fundamental for the development of the city and for creating induced activities and new jobs, with over 500 people working in the Cinecittà World parks every year'.
The calendar of events includes in April the K-pop Experience, an event dedicated to the Korean pop universe, in May sport with Italy dance competition, the Roma sport experience, a three-day event dedicated to film sports and the World Soccer Experience. Stands, comics, cosplayer competitions at Roma Comics. From 26 to 28 June Cinecittà World will be transformed into a huge open-air set for the 'Bud Spencer Tribute - 10 years without Bud'. The event offers three days of shows, stunts, exhibitions and cars from the films. Among the many activities dedicated to fans from all over the world, great space will be given to music with unmissable concerts, including the eagerly awaited concert by the Oliver Onions, authors of the famous soundtracks of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill's films, together with the Dune Buggy Band and the Bud Spencer Heart Chor from Munich. During the event, many shows were staged, including the world premiere of the western show They Called Him Gentleman, together with the Police Car Stunts in pure Bud Spencer style, the wrestling show Slap Mania and Trinity Marcel's Wild West Knife Throwing Show. "We have chosen to celebrate our father, ten years after his death, at Cinecittà World," explains Giuseppe Pedersoli, screenwriter and producer. "It is a symbolic place that tells the story of cinema in its every corner and contains all the elements to entertain families over a long weekend in memory of Bud Spencer, who played some of the most iconic scenes of his career right here. Together with our German friends from the Spencer Hill Festival we have chosen to bring the Bud Spencer Tribute to the capital for the first time to celebrate Dad together with thousands of Italian and international fans".
For the long Easter weekend, all the amusement parks in the capital will reopen and on 3 April will be the premiere of Roma World, the theme park of Ancient Rome. Aqua World, the Cinecittà World water park, will open on 30 May. For the little ones, the appointment is at Luneur Park which, from 28 March, and for the entire Easter weekend, organises a special egg hunt. From 6 June, the Splash Zone will also open, to cool off during the summer.
