The timetable

.

It will depart daily from Roma Tiburtina at 17:25, arrive in Vienna at 9:04 and in Munich at 9:22 the following day. In the opposite direction, the train will leave Munich at 20:10 and Vienna at 19:18. On board, passengers have a number of facilities at their disposal, including a minibar, free Wi-Fi with access to the ÖBB Railnet Night on-board portal, and a modern information system. The carriages are equipped with displays with various functions, such as light control or calls to the on-board staff, as well as video surveillance and electronic access systems to provide even more security on board.

The Nightjet 'is the real green deal, not like the ban on the endothermic engine from 2035, which instead is environmental and social suicide,' said Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini, who was present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new train, along with, among others, the Austrian ambassador to Italy, Martin Eichtinger. "There is a renewed friendship and fellowship between Italy and Austria, which will perhaps travel better on the tracks than it does by road at the Brenner Pass," the minister added, emphasising: "I count on this being the beginning of a new path" between the two countries.

Salvini recalled that today he opened the work of the board of directors of the Stretto di Messina company. "What is the Rome-Vienna and Rome-Munich Nightjet I count on being able to extend southwards in 2032. The aim is to have a Palermo-Vienna Nightjet in a few years' time,' said the Transport Minister. ''Wanting is power'' taught Walt Disney,'' Salvini remarked, concluding that 'railways romantically take us back thirty years, but they are also business'.

Great satisfaction from the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri (video). 'For us it is a joy to present this train. It gives a great sense of Europe building integration,' said the capital's first citizen. "It is a strategic connection that strengthens the friendship between peoples and reinforces Rome's destination," Gualtieri added. "I hope that many Viennese and Bavarian citizens will take advantage of this route to come to Rome. And I am sure that many Italians will not miss the opportunity to fall asleep in Rome and wake up in Vienna,' the mayor concluded.

And great satisfaction was expressed by the top management of FS. 'It is one of those beautiful events to present. It sanctions the movement between two important countries. There is a certain romanticism in travelling at night because it makes one think of the times when high-speed rail did not exist. It retains its charm as well as being important,' said the Fs group CEO Stefano Donnarumma (video) . "Thanks are due to Obb because you can only do these things if you work together. Making these trains, which cross countries, is only possible after so many years of cooperation," added Trenitalia CEO Luigi Corradi, who then took stock of the maintenance work on the network. "It has been a particular summer," he said. "We have to do a lot of maintenance on the line and it is done in August because in any case there are fewer passengers, Trenitalia has a peak of passengers when they resume work and students" "In August there was a peak of work, now they continue with a less tight rhythm".
