Sunset sky or beginning of dawn. Rose petal or onion skin. Intense, almost red, or just hinted at and transparent. Whatever your idea of rosé is, there is a perfect day to celebrate it: 27 June sees the return of World Rosé Wine Day, or more simply Rosé Day, born in 2018 in France, home of the legendary Provençal rosés, and a fixed date for fans of fine drinking. Every year, in the heart of summer, we toast in pink to those wines that smell of flowers, citrus fruits, red fruits, pomegranate. Versatile, gastronomic, surprising: to be uncorked on the terrace at sunset, with friends and a jazz playlist.

Here is a selection of bubbles and stills, between Franciacorta and Trentino, Sicily and Champagne. The only common thread? The colour of the sun setting in the glass.
