Saman Abbas, mother arrested in Pakistan

Saman Abbas' mother, Nazia Shaheen, 51, was arrested in Pakistan. In December, the woman was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Court of Assizes of Reggio Emilia, for the murder of her daughter, accused by the investigation of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Carabinieri. She had been a fugitive since 1 May 2021, the day she returned home from Novellara, together with her husband, after the murder. An international arrest warrant was on her. She was found in a village on the border of Kashmir, as part of the investigation activities carried out in cooperation with Interpol and the Pakistan Federal Police.
