The former Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, is under investigation by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office. The crimes alleged by the magistrates are those of embezzlement and disclosure and dissemination of official secrets. His registration stems from the complaint made by Avs MP Angelo Bonelli (video) last week at the Montecitorio police station. As per protocol, the file will pass to the Tribunal of Ministers, considering the office held until a few days ago by Sangiuliano. The facts that the prosecutors are called upon to investigate revolve around the same ones for which the former Mic holder submitted his irrevocable resignation, i.e. the relationship with the 41-year-old Maria Rosaria Boccia , who was involved in institutional activities even without a specific assignment.

Under the magistrates' lens

.

The offence of embezzlement concerns the alleged trips that the businesswoman said she made together with the former minister, including long-distance trips and for events unrelated to Sangiuliano's role . The former minister himself reiterated several times that no public money was spent on Boccia. The same applies to the offence of disclosure and dissemination of official secrets, an accusation that also stems from the words of the consultant who has repeatedly claimed to have been involved in organisational meetings ahead of the G7. Once the investigation file has been received, the court in charge of ministerial offences will have 90 days to carry out verifications, possibly hearing the persons involved and entrusting investigators with the task of carrying out investigations. Once the investigations have been completed, it will be possible to decide either to dismiss the proceedings in total autonomy or to forward the documents to the public prosecutor with a report so that he can request authorisation to proceed.

Sangiuliano's lawyer: an act due

'I have yet to speak with former minister Sangiuliano. That of the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office is a due act after the complaint presented by MP Bonelli'. This is what the lawyer Silvero Sica, defender of the former Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano said when interviewed by the La7 programme l'Aria che tira. "I have viewed the former minister's chats and I am serene. I have no fear of what this lady may say,' the lawyer added about Maria Rosaria Boccia's possible new revelations. 'I have something to say on this point. Journalists should do their job: you verify who the accuser is and then move on to the accused, a certain press has altered the rules of the profession'.

Boccia's interview with Rete 4, would have put stakes on questions

Maria Rosaria Boccia's participation in the interview scheduled on Rete 4 to 'È sempre Cartabianca' with Bianca Berlinguer was cancelled. The presenter of the programme said that Boccia had "come all the way to the studio to speak live" and that "the interview had also been announced by herself on social media". "In so many years of my profession it had never happened to me, I was speechless, I did not expect that this interview could not take place because she had offered herself, and as our journalists know, she had also said that she wanted to participate in the talk, to confront herself with others, she did not want her interview to be commented on without her," the journalist added. "This afternoon she arrived at the studios and after a long conversation told us that we had not been sufficiently informed about her case and that she preferred to take another week, pledging to return next Tuesday. She had also arrived early,' Berlinguer stressed.

According to other sources, the Pompeii businesswoman had indicated that she would not respond on certain topics, despite the fact that the agreements were for a live full-length interview, a position held firm by the broadcast. According to further reports, Boccia's participation was in any case planned to be free of charge, without even an attendance fee.

Counsellor: I will prove the truth for the sake of democracy

"If caprice commands government action, then we are already in the transition to a new form of government: dictatorship. The preservation principle of dictatorship lies precisely in the whim of the dictator. I am determined to prove the truth of my virtue, above all for the love of the Italian Republic and Democracy,' Maria Rosaria Boccia had written in a post on Instagram.

Boccia denied access to the House

In the light of the violation of the rule prohibiting the taking and dissemination of photos and videos without authorisation, the Montecitorio Security Committee, chaired by Sergio Costa, has decided, on the basis of similar precedents, to prohibit access to the premises of the Chamber of Deputies to Ms. Maria Rosaria Boccia, until otherwise decided by the competent bodies. It should be noted that in the case in question, the violation concerned particularly sensitive sites, including the Presidents' Gallery and the Transatlantic. This was announced by the Chamber.
