It will be "Made in Bresso" the LED screen of the Ariston Theatre on which Carlo Conti will read the name of the winner of Sanremo 2025. Sts Communication, a company in the Milan hinterland municipality that provides audio-visual services for the music, cinema, television and events sectors, was in fact awarded the two lots of the RAI contract for the next Italian Song Festival for a value of over 315 thousand euros.
Presiding over the Festival to preside over music
"Sanremo," emphasises General Manager Alberto Azzola, "is one of those things you have to do at least once in your life if you are in our business. Serving the event, beyond the value of the order, has a strategic importance because it means presiding over music, which remains the most important sector for us'. In fact, music is worth 30 per cent of Sts Communication's turnover, which in 2023 stood at 27 million.
From Måneskin to Laura Pausini
'If we keep all entertainment in,' Azzola continues, 'it goes up to 45 per cent'. The video production (i.e., filming of the images and broadcast on a big screen) of the Måneskin world tour, as well as those of the recent tours of Max Pezzali, Sfera Ebbasta, and Ultimo are the work of Sts Communication. The company, which employs 130 people plus an average of 60 technical collaborators for each day's service, also produces video clips (among the latest, that of Ciao by Laura Pausini) and in ten years has seen a 400% growth in its turnover.
The impact of tours on turnover
.Music is decisive: 'For a tour in an arena,' Azzola explains, 'revenues are around 15 to 20 thousand per date, depending on the complexity of the production. Clearly, if a tour includes less than ten dates, prices rise'. As far as maxi-screens for stadium tours are concerned, the figures are considerably higher: 'A production can fluctuate between 500 thousand and one million Euro,' Azzola points out. This year the company's trend is towards a confirmation of the 2023 numbers, 'but it is above all 2025, with all the Italian tours it will bring, that is promising'.
The new 'cinema' venue in Lecce
.The cinema business also offers interesting opportunities: since LED screens in film productions have replaced the old green screens, Sts has set up tents at Cinecittà. And that's not all: 'We have invested 4 million on a second location in Lecce,' says the general manager. "Apulia, in fact, thanks to the activism of the local Film Commission, has become an important place for cinema on which we have decided to bet strongly".
