Santa Margherita Talks: a focus on geopolitics, Europe and the new global balance of power
Saturday 25 July: the second event featuring political scientist VITTORIO EMANUELE PARSI and Daniele Bellasio, Deputy Editor of *Il Sole 24 Ore*
The series of events organised by *Il Sole 24 Ore* in collaboration with the Municipality of Santa Margherita Ligure, Team for Santa and the Hoteliers’ Association of Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino continues, under the patronage of the Liguria Region. On 25 July, in Piazza Caprera, there will be a presentation of the book “Against Empires. The Future of Our Democracies in the New World Order”
Following the success of the first event on 20 June – which focused on health and wellbeing with Daniel Lumera – the series of talks “Santa Margherita Talks – Summer Edition. “Conversations on culture, finance and current affairs”, the series promoted by Sole 24 Ore in collaboration with the Municipality of Santa Margherita Ligure, Team for Santa and the Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino Hoteliers’ Association, under the patronage of the Liguria Region.
The event, comprising a total of three sessions between June and September, has been organised with the aim of offering residents and visitors opportunities to discuss and explore the major issues of our time, through the contributions of leading figures from the Italian cultural, academic and journalistic spheres.
The second event in the series will take place on Saturday 25 July at 9.00 pm in Piazza Caprera and will focus on the themes of geopolitics and international relations. The guest of honour for the evening will be Vittorio Emanuele Parsi, one of Italy’s leading scholars of international politics, who will present his latest book, “Against Empires: The Future of Our Democracies in the New World Order”.
The event will offer the public an opportunity to explore in depth the major geopolitical changes that are redefining the global balance of power, the dynamics of the new world order and the challenges that Western democracies are called upon to face in an increasingly complex and changing international landscape.
