A declaration of bankruptcy is looming for another of the companies of the bio-food group once led by minister Daniela Santanchè and former partner Giovanni Canio Mazzaro. The judge in Milan, Francesco Pipicelli, before whom the hearing was held to discuss 'the inadmissibility of the application for access' to the 'concordato in bianco' and the petition to open bankruptcy proceedings for Ki Group Holding spa, reserved his decision. Prosecutor Marina Gravina, in charge of the investigation with Luigi Luzi, insisted on judicial liquidation, while the company's lawyers referred to the decision.
The rescue plan never presented
Last December, Ki Group Holding, through its lawyers, had requested a blank arrangement and new protection measures, assuring that a 'rescue plan' would be presented within 60 days: it was claimed to have the availability of an investor to put the accounts back on track. Even then, for the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office and the Agenzia delle Entrate, which complained of a debt to the tax authorities of around EUR 400,000, the judicial liquidation procedure was to be opened. The deadline was then extended by the bankruptcy judges until 22 April. The company, however, did not file 'neither the proposal, nor the arrangement plan, nor the appeal for homologation of the restructuring agreement' or any other 'crisis regulation instrument'. Among Ki Group Holding's major creditors are the bankruptcy of Bionature, a company in the food sector that was once part of the bankrupt Bioera, and the bankruptcy of Penta Trasporti.
Investigations and Processes
For the bankruptcy of Ki Group Santanchè is under investigation for bankruptcy and risks a similar charge after the collapse of Bioera. From the 'package' of investigations opened by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office on the Visibilia group, on the other hand, the minister and senator of Fratelli d'Italia has been put on trial for false accounting (with 16 other people, including her companion Dimitri Kunz, her ex-partner Giovanni Canio Mazzaro, her sister Fiorella Garnero and her niece Silvia Garnero) and could risk being indicted on charges of aggravated fraud against the Inps.
