A new acquisition for Sapio, which extends its international presence and also enters the United Kingdom: the Monza-based group, which is headed by the Dossi and Colombo families and operates in the industrial, medical and home care gases sector in eight countries, has recently finalised the closing of the deal to acquire Baywater Healthcare UK Limited, a company operating in the oxygen therapy and home respiratory care sector in the United Kingdom, from the French group Bastide.
For Sapio this is a strategic acquisition especially because Baywater Healthcare is a leading provider of home care services in the UK where it looks after 60,000 patients and has a market share of more than 50%. Baywater's annual turnover is around EUR 60 million and it employs around 500 people. Thanks to this transaction Sapio, which is already present in Italy, France, Germany, Slovenia, Turkey, Spain, Portugal and the United States, and ended 2024 with a turnover of EUR 900 million, will reach the EUR 1 billion mark in sales. By entering the UK market, the group will take a further step forward in the development strategy of the business plan, whose goal is to achieve leadership in home care in Europe, where Sapio already cares for 200,000 patients every day.
