SAS: to purchase up to 40 Airbus A330s for over 10 billion dollars
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - The Scandinavian airline SAS has announced the acquisition of up to 40 new Airbus A330s, the largest aircraft order in its history, with a total value of over 10 billion dollars.
"This investment covers up to 40 Airbus wide-body aircraft, comprising a mix of new Airbus A330-900neo and Airbus A330-300 aircraft ordered to support short-term growth" whilst awaiting the arrival of the A330-900neo, SAS said in a statement. Air France-KLM is set to become the airline’s largest shareholder by the end of the year.
