In the pipeline is the construction of housing in Scampia: let's talk about the houses that will go to the citizens of the demolished Vele who have temporarily adopted other accommodations. Piloda Group, through its Building division, is handling the construction of the first three buildings located in the area of the green sail in via Labriola, as part of the Re-Star Scampia Project.
A month after the demolition of the yellow sail (the last one razed to the ground), the foundations of the first building were laid. By the end of April, this part of the work will be completed and we will continue with the pillars and the wall septa (the reinforced concrete walls). The complete skeleton will be visible by July, as per the timetable agreed with the municipality.
The start of work in an area well known for its history also arouses a lot of interest abroad: the building site was visited by Ard, the German public television station which, as part of its Europamagazin column, made a report on Scampia and how architecture can affect people's lives.
The work in progress concerns the first part of the new eco-neighbourhood in the area of the former Lot M, which will be handed over to the City of Naples within two years from the start of construction. This is only the first step of the 'Re-Start Scampia' project, financed in total with about EUR 150 million from PNRR, PON Metro Plus and the Periferie programme. The first 145 brand new dwellings will be built: 97 in the three buildings in Lot A, 48 in Lot L, nurseries, a Civic Centre, community spaces and an entire sustainable urban ecosystem. The eco-neighbourhood immersed in greenery will be built to the highest energy efficiency standards (nZEB - near-zero energy buildings). The construction site is expected to employ 100 workers, 25 specialised subcontractors and 50 professional engineers and designers.
"It is an intervention of more than 50 million,' explains Ignazio Di Palo, Cfo Piloda Group, 'which we expect to be able to complete by 80 per cent this year. We have dedicated a lot of resources to the site and purchased over 2 million pieces of equipment to proceed as quickly as possible and meet the deadlines'.
