World titles? Four. Records? Plenty. The class? Like few in the history of Formula 1. Max Verstappen is the face of Formula 1 today. And he was destined to be. After all, he was the youngest ever to win a race in motorsport's premier class (at 18 years, 7 months and 15 days) and today anyone who wants to excel has to reckon with his talent. This season, despite being more complicated than the previous ones, he has finished on the winner's podium twice in twelve races and has taken four pole positions (at the time of writing). Given Tag Hauer's partnership with his Oracle Red Bull Racing team, he was also at the launch of the new Monaco watches in May during the Grand Prix de Monaco weekend.
This year Tag Heuer is back as official timekeeper of Formula 1. How do you feel about wearing a watch from a brand that has written such important pages of the sport? .
Having him back as timekeeper, I think, is perfect for our sport because it is a brand that has always been an integral part of Formula 1. For me, wearing a Monaco is a natural gesture that I hope to continue to do in the future!
You are one of the faces of the brand's new Designed to Win campaign. Do you feel the same way?
In a way, yes. Ever since I was a child, I was programmed to win. It was my father who introduced me to the sport. Our goal was to get into Formula 1, to be competitive and to win.
