School, over 41 thousand new teachers hired, 58 thousand precarious support teachers confirmed

By September of this year, 41,901 new teachers will become tenured, equal to 76.8% of the posts available nationwide, 30% more than last year (they were 47.6%). After tenure on ordinary posts, the coverage of the workforce is 97.3%, compared to 94% in the 2024/2025 academic year. These are the first numbers released by Mim.

Special attention is given to support: 7,820 teachers have been hired, for a total of approximately 121,879 tenured teachers and a staff coverage of 95.2 per cent (it was 89 per cent before these new hirings). In addition, for the first time, in order to guarantee continuity in teaching for students with disabilities, it will be possible to confirm annual substitute teachers or those appointed up to 30 June for whom families have requested continuity. This concerns almost 58,000 teachers out of a total of about 120,000 posts.

There will be approximately 120,000 substitutions on derogation support posts.
