It is Pollica, in the province of Salerno, the beach queen of summer 2026, among the 30 locations (20 of sea and 10 of lakes), where the Five Sails of Legambiente and Touring Club fly at the centre of the new guide "The Most Beautiful Sea" presented in Venice, during the Venice Climate Week 2026 and on World Environment Day.
The podium
On the podium are Baunei (Nuoro) up from fourth to second place and Otranto (Lecce) up from tenth to third. Sardinia is the region with the most Five Sails seaside resorts (6), followed by Puglia (5) and Toscana (4).
Among the lakes, the Molveno lake in Trentino-Alto Adige, the leading area for award-winning locations, stands out, while in central Italy, the Scanno lake in Abruzzo (in seventh position) is confirmed as having five sails.
Sustainable tourism
The award is given to those realities that focus on sustainable tourism and management, but which are also adapting to the current climate crisis by providing solutions and proposals for cooler holidays and the discovery of territories, explain the organisers.
The dominance of southern Italia regions is confirmed. In the top ten seaside resorts are Domus De Maria (South Sardinia), San Giovanni a Piro (Salerno), Nardò (Lecce), San Teodoro (Sassari), S.Teresa di Gallura (Sassari), Cabras (Oristano), Castiglione della Pescaia (Grosseto).
