Helicopter crashed between Marche and Tuscany, Tuscan entrepreneurs Mario Paglicci and Fulvio Casini dead

The helicopter that crashed on 9 November 2025 on the border between the Marche and Tuscany has been found: the aircraft was destroyed and burnt. It was spotted by the fire brigade in a wooded area near Lake Montedoglio, in the province of Arezzo.

The private helicopter had taken off from Venice early yesterday afternoon and disappeared from radar while flying over the Badia Tedalda (Arezzo) area, on the border between Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna and Marche. The aircraft, an Agusta Westland 109 belonging to Leonardo, was heading for the Castiglion Fiorentino airfield, but never reached its destination. Two men were on board, goldsmith entrepreneur Mario Paglicci, well known in Arezzo, and Fulvio Casini from Sinalunga (Siena).

On 11 November 2025, the Arezzo Fire Brigade concluded operations to recover the remains of the victims of the tragic accident.

The operations took place in a particularly inaccessible area of the Alpe della Luna, on the border between Tuscany and Marche, where the helicopter had crashed.The intervention was carried out by the SAF (Speleo Alpino Fluviale) nucleus of the Arezzo Command, which used the Drago 125 helicopter to reach the site of the accident, with the support of the Cecina and Arezzo Fire Brigade flight departments.

The alarm was triggered when the 118 emergency services of the Asl Toscana Sud Est received an emergency signal from the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite system, designed to coordinate rescue operations in the event of an aircraft accident. The health authority immediately activated the maxi emergency group, with the Disaster Manager and a nurse in the operations room, in connection with neighbouring provincial structures.
