Secarepay: security is at the heart of the second-hand car trade
The platform focuses on verified identities, secure payments and guarantees on second-hand goods. And with Secarepay Wallet, the service also extends to transactions initiated via other channels.
Secarepay is a Brescia-based marketplace aimed at private individuals and dealers, founded with a very clear objective: to tackle (and resolve) some of the problems that arise when buying and selling used cars online. These include protecting the parties involved, the costs of placing adverts, and the need for more comprehensive services. The model on offer combines affordable fees, verification procedures and tools designed to simplify the experience for both buyers and sellers.
The first “problem solved” relates to user identity. Both private individuals and retailers must complete a verification process that includes personal identification and linking to a bank account. For businesses, additional legal documentation is also required.
A second important aspect concerns warranties on used vehicles. Dealers can offer bespoke cover for the vehicles they have for sale. This option is also available to private sellers, who can thus offer greater protection to those buying their cars.
The third, but no less important, pillar is payment. Through Secarepay Wallet, the money paid by the buyer is held in escrow until the transfer of ownership is complete. Only then is the sum transferred to the seller, with the aim of reducing the risks for both parties.
