SA proposal that could represent a turning point for the audiovisual rights of Serie B arrived on the table of the Lega Serie B last night.
According to Sole 24 Ore, a draft by Nvp, Deltatre and Comintech, with legal assistance from Deloitte, was delivered yesterday evening. Content? The proposal to tie for the next five seasons the game of audiovisual rights to the creation of a channel, through which to distribute directly and through agreements with third parties the Serie B product.
Awaiting for a buyer
.For which, moreover, at the moment there is no buyer after the market bid - which contemplated disbursements for packages of between 16 and 22 million euros per season, depending on various parameters - was rejected on the expiry of the deadline of 30 April. The basic idea was the same as that of the previous three-year period: non-exclusive assignment of rights with the logic that the more participants, the greater the revenue and the lower the unit disbursement, given that the amount paid would vary according to the number of assignees.
An assignment, that of the current three-year period, which at first went well with Helbiz entering the game in addition to Sky and Dazn, but then culminated in the Lega Serie B's divorce from Helbiz itself with Sky and Dazn taking over for the missing part.
Advances Abroad
The idea of the Serie Cadetta clubs' association is at the moment to capitalise on the advancement in foreign markets (the Lega Serie B has landed in 56 countries) before having a clear picture of where the domestic market negotiations with Sky and Dazn will land.
