Awaiting for a buyer

.

For which, moreover, at the moment there is no buyer after the market bid - which contemplated disbursements for packages of between 16 and 22 million euros per season, depending on various parameters - was rejected on the expiry of the deadline of 30 April. The basic idea was the same as that of the previous three-year period: non-exclusive assignment of rights with the logic that the more participants, the greater the revenue and the lower the unit disbursement, given that the amount paid would vary according to the number of assignees.

An assignment, that of the current three-year period, which at first went well with Helbiz entering the game in addition to Sky and Dazn, but then culminated in the Lega Serie B's divorce from Helbiz itself with Sky and Dazn taking over for the missing part.

Advances Abroad

The idea of the Serie Cadetta clubs' association is at the moment to capitalise on the advancement in foreign markets (the Lega Serie B has landed in 56 countries) before having a clear picture of where the domestic market negotiations with Sky and Dazn will land.

The project

.

In the meantime, however, Nvp, Deltatre and Comintech have come forward with a project whose final tipping point would be in revenues for Serie B, which, net of production, distribution and marketing costs, would reach around 20 million for the first season (hopefully the one kicking off after the summer break), rising to 29 million at the end of the five-year period. Including the distributor and financial partner fees (which may not necessarily be necessary, but is expected in this first phase) we are talking about 21.9 million net in the first year and 33.5 at the end of the 2028-29 season.

The project also clarifies the two main parts around which the business plan is built: the direct sale to the consumer through the channel (D2C) and the sale of the same channel with finished product to broadcasters, including a free-to-air distribution on Mediaset and Rai. For D2C the business plan starts from 8.5 million gross revenues to reach 14.6 million in 2028-29, while for the second item it goes from 21.5 million to 26.3 million in 2029-29.

At this point, it will be necessary to understand what the Lega Serie B's reception will be to a project involving NVP and Comintech, who already provide production and distribution services for Lega Serie B matches. They have been joined by Deltatre (whose shareholders include Bain Capital).
