There are already more than a hundred (and growing every day) women and men accusing Sean "Diddy" Combs of sexual assault and abuse: all describe the rapper and record producer as a violent sexual predator, who stunned his victims with alcohol and drugs before abusing them, forcing them to keep quiet with threats and exploiting his position of power.

Combs - also known as P. Diddy and formerly Puff Daddy - was arrested on 16 September at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan, is still incarcerated in a Brooklyn jail in New York, and has been remanded for trial on very serious charges including sex trafficking, child abuse and pimping.

Combs may have had accomplices whose famous names may be revealed in the new wave of lawsuits. "The names will shock you," said lawyer Tony Buzbee, who defends more than a hundred victims.

King of the star system with a billionaire fortune

For years one of the most influential figures in American music and the star system, Diddy - 54 years old and a fortune that Forbes estimates at close to a billion dollars - declares himself innocent and 'is looking forward,' his lawyer explained, 'to proving his innocence and exonerating himself in court, where the truth will be established on the basis of evidence, not speculation'.

But the testimonies and evidence against him seem many and overwhelming: there would also be photographs, videos and recordings of what went on during the famous Freak Offs, the performances organised by Combs himself in hotels in New York, but also in California and Florida. Or of the abuses that took place behind the so-called White Parties: the white parties for the super-rich in the Hamptons in New York, at which actors, music stars and celebrities of all kinds attended at Combs's invitation.
People such as Paris Hilton, Justin Bieber or Leonardo DiCaprio have long since distanced themselves from those parties.

Trump's fake news

.

While, in recent days, Donald Trump, in one of his more clumsy outings, attempted to associate Kamala Harris with red-light parties, spreading a fake photo of the Democratic rival together with Combs on social media.

Risk at least 15 years in prison

In charging Combs, federal prosecutors describe 'conduct that has gone on for decades, beginning in 1991' and a person who poses a 'grave danger to the community'. For the judge, who continues to deny bail, there is a risk that Diddy will pollute evidence or attempt to manipulate witnesses.

The Fall of the Empire

.

After years of complaints and suspicions - linked to sexual abuse but also to the rapper war between East Coas and West Coast - the investigation by the federal prosecutor's office started at the end of 2023 by the allegations of the former company Cassie, stage name Cassandra Ventura. From then on, the scandal was unleashed, mixing news and gossip, leading many other victims to denounce violence and abuse: a bit like what happened in Los Angeles with the investigation into the film producer Harvey Weinstein from which the #MeToo Movement originated. Also in the case of Diddy, an empire collapses: the rapper, considered one of the most influential figures in hip hop, has won three Grammys; he has produced artists such as Notorious BIG Mary J. Blige, Usher, Lil Kim, Faith Evans and 112; he founded Bad Boy Records; launched clothing lines, vodka brands and even a TV network. As of yesterday, another 120 complaints have been added to the ongoing investigation against Combs, all represented by a Texas-based law firm that has promised to present all the prosecution documents within the next month: among the victims who have decided to come forward are 25 men and women who were minors at the time of the events, in one case the victim was only nine years old. "Many young people," said Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee, "were coerced, exploited and sexually abused with the promise of becoming stars.
