Bmw unveiled a prototype at the Chinese show that will certainly not go unnoticed by visitors to the show: it is the Vision Driving Experience, debuting without camouflage and with a self-luminous paint job. It is an innovation made possible by photosensitive pigments that light up in natural light, while in the dark, they vary from pale yellow to brighter neon yellow, depending on the level of charge required. On the back side, a film that is UV-sensitive creates an additional shade that starts out yellow, then changes to orange and fades to pink.

Heart of Joy the technological heart of the prototype

The technological heart of the prototype is the new central supercomputer Heart of Joy, a veritable brain that manages all the functions that regulate driving dynamics on the basis of a software named Bmw Dynamic Performance Control. Although it will not be seen in future production models, on the prototype it is visible in the centre of the dashboard. With a torque of 18,000 Nm, the Vision Driving Experience is the most powerful show car ever made by Bmw as well as being able to control the car's power, turning it into driving fun.

The Neue Klasse is in production at the end of 2025

.

The active aerodynamics, then, generates 1.2 tonnes of charge up to 3g lateral forces, far beyond what a road car requires. Bmw's idea is that if the system works under extreme conditions, it will also be efficient day by day. The Neue Klasse representing Bmw's new electric course is set to go into production by the end of the year at the Hungarian factory in Debrecen.

All models will be equipped with the Heart of Joy computer, which will be able to manage both traction and braking, but also recharging through regeneration, as well as some steering.
