Shiseido accelerates on skincare with new Gallinée brand

Founded by pharmacy doctor Marie Drago in 2016, Gallinée is a beauty brand entirely dedicated to caring for the skin microbiome, a vital ecosystem that protects and nourishes the body's largest organ: the skin. The brand was acquired by the Shiseido group which, after the launch of Ulè, presents it in Italy in partnership with Benu Farmacia, in 220 points of sale and online.
A doctor of pharmacy with over 20 years' experience in the cosmetics industry, Marie Drago began her research into the effect of probiotics on the skin after being affected by a rare inflammatory skin disease. She patented her thesis and used it as the foundation to create Gallinée's revolutionary formulation, delving into the new science behind treating the thousands of types of bacteria that live on the skin, constantly evolving through research and always taking the subject of bacteria seriously.
Now, the brand holds four scientific patents. The result: products that care for the microbiome on many levels, both treating immediate skin problems and promoting long-term skin health. Ingredients and active ingredients come together in each formula to support and rebalance the skin microbiome: they strengthen its natural barrier and anti-inflammatory activity by ensuring a sufficient number and balance of good and bad bacteria, as well as overall bacterial diversity.
