The extension for the National Identification Code for short-term rentals arrives: obligations slip to 1 January 2025. This was announced by the Ministry of Tourism in a note.
"With reference to the procedure for requesting and assigning the National Identification Code (Cin)," explains the Mitur, "it has emerged the opportunity to standardise the deadline by which those concerned are obliged to equip themselves with Cin, which must, therefore, be understood as 1 January 2025, under penalty of the application of the sanctions provided for by the aforementioned rule. Therefore, the different time regimes indicated in recent weeks are aligned: the obligation, with the related sanctions, will start from January.
'The identification of a single deadline,' the ministry goes on to explain, 'is also aimed at ensuring uniformity of treatment with regard to the end users of the Accommodation Facilities Database, i.e. the owners of accommodation facilities and rented real estate units required to acquire the Cin'.
Ultimately, the deadline for achieving the Cin 'should be set at 1 January 2025, in order to meet the above-mentioned requirements and to ensure, moreover, full uniformity of application of the discipline throughout the country'.
