Siad grows with compressor production and a new site in Seriate

The Siad Group of Bergamo is strengthening its engineering area with a new 18 million euro investment in Seriate (Bergamo), where a site for the production of gas compressors will be built, precisely on the centenary of the construction of the first model. In fact, Chairman and CEO Bernardo Sestini recalls that a century has passed since "the compressor designed and built by Quirino and Bernardo Sestini, which was a model for oil-free acetylene, went into operation". This new site, continues Sestini, 'represents a strategic step in strengthening the company's position in these technologies. It reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and manufacturing excellence'.

Already in the second half of this year, the company, which produces both technical and medical gases, as well as the plants to produce them and the compressors to compress them, will boost production with the start-up of two new plants that should become operational in the coming months. One is the one in Marghera, a 50 million euro investment that was announced last June and concerns large air fractioning plants that can be transported by sea. The other, on the other hand, was announced yesterday and will be a few kilometres from the historic site in Bergamo, in Seriate. It will be dedicated to the production of compressors in which Siad is investing a further 18 million euro. This step will allow the progressive strengthening of Bergamo as the group's headquarters, supporting business in the various areas of the world.

The company headed by the Sestini family has more than 2,500 employees globally and closed 2025 with a turnover of EUR 1.160 billion, 10% more than in 2024. And already in the early months of 2026 it has put another building block in place for a new year of growth, despite the uncertainties generated by the geopolitical context and the unfavourable prospect of energy cost increases, given the decidedly energy-intensive nature of its production. The Seriate complex will host the production of reciprocating compressors, which today takes place at the Bergamo site, a strategic point of reference for the entire Group, which also has its headquarters here. The Seriate site will allow a more efficient production layout capable of responding to the growing production volumes and technological requirements that are already needed today. And given the development forecasts they will serve even more in the future. The compressors designed and manufactured by the Siad Group are destined for customers all over the world and are used in numerous fields ranging from the energy transition to the industrial and food sectors.
