Sideralba (steel tubes) expands and acquires a 51 per cent stake in Sidergalbiati
The transaction required a capital increase of 1.5 million
Sideralba acquires a 51 per cent stake in Sidergalbiati Spa. The transaction, carried out through the purchase of shares and a capital increase (worth 1.5 million), aims to inject fresh capital into the plants in Sirone (Lc), Montichiari (Bs) and Gorla Minore (Va). Luigi Rapullino has been appointed chairman, whilst Marco Galbiati has been appointed chief executive.
Sideralba, a manufacturer of steel tubes and a leading international player in the steel processing sector, has completed the acquisition of a 51 per cent controlling stake in Sidergalbiati Spa, the NewCo formed following the transfer of the long-established operations of Galbiati Spa and Metalnastro Srl in June.
Sidergalbiati is an industrial company with deep roots in the Lombardy region, specialising in the production of steel strips and sheets. With over 60 employees and a production capacity of 100,000 tonnes, the company operates across three plants. It achieved a turnover of 80 million.
Sideralba’s entry into the company’s shareholding structure takes place through a hybrid arrangement combining the purchase of shares with a simultaneous capital increase. This approach has been designed to significantly strengthen the company’s equity and inject fresh capital, ensuring the necessary resources to support its growth and market consolidation plans. Sideralba has 600 employees and a turnover of 300 million.
The board of directors has been renewed: representing Sideralba on the board will be Luigi Rapullino, who takes up the post of chairman, Daniele Palombi as managing director, and Tommaso Rapullino. Representing the Galbiati family will be Marco Galbiati, in the role of Chief Executive Officer, alongside Fabio Galbiati and Davide Galbiati. Sergio Galbiati, co-founder of the company, will hold the position of Honorary Chairman, reflecting the company’s deep historical and industrial ties to the local area.
