Sky and Warner Bros Discovery, peace made: ten channels and discovery+ return
Sky and Warner Bros. Discovery have signed a new partnership agreement that brings an important piece of the Wbd offer back to Sky decoders
After the tear, the return. Sky and Warner Bros. Discovery have signed a new partnership agreement that brings an important piece of the Wbd offer back to Sky decoders: ten TV channels, the discovery+ app and a Warner Bros. film package destined to enrich Sky Cinema and Now. Not included in the deal are the Eurosport and Hbo Max channels. But after the wall-to-wall of recent months, the agreement represents a significant step forward.
As in all agreements, the convenience
The line-up includes Nove, Discovery, Real Time, Dmax, Giallo, Food Network, Hgtv, Discovery Turbo, K2 and Frisbee. They will be visible on Sky Q, My Sky, Sky Stream and Sky Glass. They join the kids channels Cartoon Network and Boomerang and Cnn International, already part of the offer.
The switchover is not just television. From 14 May, the discovery+ app will return to Sky Q, Sky Stream and Sky Glass. Discovery+ subscribers - or those who decide to subscribe - will be able to access Originals content and Eurosport sporting events directly from their Sky remote: Roland Garros, Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, Vuelta, winter sports, Le Mans, Formula E and PGA Tour golf. A separate subscription is needed, it must be said. But even here the advancement, compared to the total lack of possibility to connect the Sky world to this sports content, is not to be dismissed.
The agreement also covers cinema. Sky and Now will have a selection of Warner Bros. titles as "second windows", including recent blockbusters and classics: from Barbie to Dune, from Elvis to Blade Runner, from A Clockwork Orange to The Shining, up to the Dark Knight trilogy and Inception. A number of exclusive premieres will also arrive from 2027, including Spring, Idols, the new Superman, Weapons and Wuthering Heights.
